Googie Style loves to travel! Obviously we traverse the country looking for rare and unusual artifacts, and hidden treasures. We often find ourselves in unexpected adventures and we would like to share those with you!
'Magic Gardens, Philadelphia, PA: One of the most unique properties in Philadelphia is a dreamland of mosaics created by Isaiah Zagar. Truly an experience of a lifetime walking thru the creations of zany artwork and colorful 'tile work with a twist'. Mr. Zagar is still alive at 78 years old and finishing a 10,000 square foot industrial building completely covered in mosaics. Wowza!
The Peerless Motor Company, Cleveland Ohio: After Spending 3 weeks in this historic foundry where Peerless Cars were made, we were able to salvage loads of old pulleys, industrial lights, fire doors, old iron placards, fire alarms, fixtures, and railings, as well as the foundry flag pole. Exhausting work in 95 degree heat, we felt Like Champions!
Randyland, Pittsburgh, PA: Randyland is an iconic and 'not to miss' place in Pittsburgh where artist Randy Gilson has transformed the entire neighborhood into a wonderland of paintings and whimsical hangout. The real attraction in this wonderland is of course Randy, himself....a legend in Pittsburgh.
